Vancouver loves their Canucks – and so do bars in Vancouver! It’s pretty rare to walk into a bar in Vancouver and NOT find at least a couple of flat screen tvs showing the game. Below are some local favorites to cheer on the team.
If it’s later in the season – or during play-offs (fingers crossed) – be warned that that the bars getting VERY busy so plan to get their early to secure a spot. Don’t even think of getting a reservation – with all the foot traffic, they don’t bother. In the list below, there are a few best bets for those busier nights…
10. Steamworks Pub
Steamworks is a good pub for large gatherings and convenient to the sky-train for travellers outside of downtown. Because they are also a restaurant, there’s a good selection of food to have dinner as well.

9. The Yaletown Brewery
The Yaletown Brew Pub doesn’t have the best TV selection and the bar part can easily get too crowded and cramped. Though, if you’re close to Yaletown it’s your best best on game night.

8. The Kingston
The Kingston attracts the after work crowd with the best food options on this list. It has 2 flat panel tvs above the bar and a one gian big screen. It’s hard to find tables after work on Fridays so unless you can cut work at 4 on a game night, finding room might be difficult here.

7. The Blarney Stone
The Blarney Stone is not typically a place you think of to watch the game and that’s why it’s good! They just added new high definition tvs AND have a tun of room! This might be a good option for busy game nights where you likely won’t have to worry about finding a place to sit. On weekends, the place turns into one of the most popular bars in Vancouver for the young 20-something crowd.

6. Doolin’s Irish Pub
I’m a fan of Doolin’s. It’s nice and big, good atmosphere and nice staff. Good options for game night.

5. Ceili’s Irish Pub
Ceili’s has a couple of rooms for watching the game with a large TV in each and several smaller TVs scattered around the bar. Generally, you find the early 20s crowd at Ceili’s. If you want dinner as well, this is a good place to eat and have a vantage point. Ceili’s also has busy bar nights Thursdays through Saturday so you can keep the party going and make it a late night!

4. Library Square
Library Square went nuts on high def tvs so there are plenty of vantage points to take in the game and can get a decent dinner. Though, get there early, on game nights most of the bar is standing.

3. The Lamplighter
The Lamplighter bar is Gastown’s Library Square (also a Donnelley Club). It was newly renovated last year, has a tun of high def tvs to see the game though, also like Libarary Square, on game nights, it’s very crowded. I rate it higher than Library Square because it’s more of a bar so there’s a better chance of finding a seat and I really like their staff.

2. GSports Bar
This is a fairly new sports bar downtown beside the Two Parrots and Davie and Granville. It’s very into it’s sports – promoting all sports events, good drinks specials on game nights, lots of tvs, great service and a great smaller pub atmosphere. Still fairly new on the block so you may have a good chance of snagging a seat if you come within the hour of puck drop. These guys let me make reservations on a game night, too!

1. The Shark Club
I had to make the Shark Club #1. You just want to be close to GM place when the cannucks win!! It’s a large bar with a tun of high def supply. This is where influx of GM place fans will come after the game to keep the party going hard!
