The Pirate Pub is a great little bar located right on the seawalll under the Burrard bridge. Formerly Fiddlehead Joe’s, the Pirate Pub is one of the only places in all of Vancouver where you can have a drink on the waterfront, sitting on False Creek. The aqua-bus is steps away for a 5 minute hop over to Granville Island. From the Pirate Pub, you can follow the seawall to Stanley Park in one direction or Yaletown, the Olympic Village, Granville Island and Kits in the other.

Walkers, cyclists and rollerbladers pass by the bar with floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the outside view. On a summer day, the Pirate Pub patio can’t be beat!

In winter, the Pirate Pub quiets down without all the tourists and summer traffic but you can head down to the pub for a chill place to watch the canucks with drink specials most nights of the week. At night, it still has it’s charm with the view of Granville Island and lights from the moored boats beside.

On weekends, you can stroll down to the Pirate Pub for a brunch.

Hub Restaurant and Bar is a comfortable and cozy Yaletown neighbourhood locale for dinner and drinks. Once a part of the Brown’s restaurant chain, Hub maintains that warm and comfortable interior with a stylish finesse.

At Hub, the focus on “comfort” also resonates with it’s food – featuring prime rib meals, pastas, burgers, pizzas and keeping some old Brown’s favorites. Un-pretentious and independently owned, Hub Restaurant is a great stand-alone neighbourhood restaurant and bar in the heart of Yaletown.

St. Augustine’s on Commercial Drive is a friendly neighbourhood sports bar operated by three home grown owners who grew up around the Commerical Drive area. Inside, St. Augustine’s provides a leisurely place to grab a bite to eat and watch the canucks games, ufc or other popular sporting events.

Inside there are several large tables that accommodate large groups and, unlike most bars in Vancouver, St. Augustine’s lets you reserve a table to secure seats for busy sport nights (including UFC nights)!

The menu at St. Augustine’s has all the favourites – including burgers, pizzas, sandwiches and nachos. Open during the day, you can easily pop in for a quick bite to eat and on weekends, they provide lunch.

Two things that I find most enticing about St. Augustine’s is the beer – they have TWENTY beers on tap!

I should also mention St. Augustine’s has parking on the ROOF! This means you don’t have to worry about nabbing a spot on Commercial drive.
