Cafe Crepe is not a really a “bar” per-se but it has wicked cheap beer, great crepes and a patio so why not! The inside is a mix between cafe, deli and restaurant. There are several Cafe Crepe locations in Vancouver and the two on Granville street offer some sidewalk patio seating for some great people watching.

Relish Restaurant and Bar is a popular hotspot just off the Granville Stripe tucked away in an open courtyard with patio seating on Nelson street in downtown Vancouver.

Relish first opened in 2004 and has long been a popular Vancouver party bar. In early 2010, Relish underwent major renovations and took on a more serious dedication to providing quality comfort food.

Chef Patchen Gallagher from Glowal and Deacon’s Corner pleases hungry taste buds with Short Rib Shepherd’s Pie, Duck Fat Steak Fries, Tourtiere and… read this right: Gnocchi Poutine. Patchen also brings his love for breakfast to Relish by offering breakfast menu items at any hour! What’s even better is the price – at $15 & under for entres and nightly drink specials, Relish is easy on the wallet.

Today Relish Gastropub is a classy, yet relaxed 85 seat pub that attracts a more sophisticated crowd who want to get off the Granville strip and tire of the pretentiousness of Yaletown. But make no doubt about it, Relish can still party. Relish is open til 2am on weekdays and on weekends, a DJ and dance floor keeps the party going til 3am.

The Speakeasy on Davie is a long time West End favorite for… everything: cancuks, patio, food, drink, UFC and now brunch. Falconetti’s East Side Grill

Falconetti’s is small and friendly neighborhood bar on Commercial drive. The bar opens to a narrow corridor with sets of tall 2-person tables on one side and bar on the other side. Follow to the back and you’ll find a room for bigger groups to enjoy food and live music showcased on a small stage. On canuck nights, Falconetti’s lowers a big screen for everyone to catch the action.

Stella’s Tap and Tapas Bar on Commercial Drive is a warm and cozy pub located at the corner of William and Commercial Drive at the edge of Grandview Park. Featuring a wide selection of Beligium beer on tap and a full tapas menu, Stella’s is a popular neighbourhood pub.

Inside, a sunken dining room with cobbled stone brick walls and oil paintings give it an old tavern feel where Commercial Drive residents come with friends to share plates. On the other side, you’re welcome to sit at a long bar and sip on a pint. Note beer specials on Canuck game nights!

Located beside a lovely park and reedy water, Cat’s Social House patio is especially popular on sunny summer days. Formerly called “The Cat’s Meow”, now “Cat’s Social House” is the official test kitchen for popular Brown’s Social House Restaurant Group so expect to see some new and interesting things pop up on the menu with every visit.

The Five Point

The Five Point bar on Main street in Vancouver is a local neighborhood favorite for casual dinner and drinks. It sits between 15th and 16th avenue with a small raised wooden patio on the sidewalk in front. On a summer day, the patio is packed as it’s one of the only patio options in the area. Most days, the place starts to fill up for a late dinner with a late 20s and 30s crowd. The food is decent – passing the neighborhood pub standards. It’s my obvious “go to” to meet with friends on Main.

Jimmy's Taphouse

Jimmy’s is a great bar for after work right on the corner of Robson and Home street. It has a patio on the sidewalk out front and inside has one room with 2-person or group seating. Five flat screen tvs are scattered around the room to catch the canucks game or whatever other pay-per-view sports is on. It’s kitchen serves mostly burgers and sandwiches that go together nicely with a pint after the long day.
