The Diamond in Gastown is a private and intimate bar and lounge up on the 2nd floor at the corner of Powell and Carrall. Opening in July 2009, it’s one of the newest hip hang-outs in Gastown. Open Wednesday through Sunday, the Diamond serves tapas and one-of-a-kind cocktail concoctions. The Diamond’s dining space is nice and open with the high lofty ceilings and big corridors that are unique to Gastown’s heritage buildings. Most tables are set for two to share plates which makes for a great place to catch up with a friend or to bring a date. Though, if you plan ahead or make a reservation, the Diamond has some room for smaller groups to dine together.

Receiving food awards from Vancouver Magazine and Zagat, Lolita’s South of the Border Cantina is a casual mexican inspired restaurant located in the West End. on Dave Street.

Inside is a quaint, long and narrow dim light room with a long bar one side and tables on the other. Lolitas is a popular West End dinner spot and favorite with Vancouver foodies who appreciate the affordable and delicious adventures in food.

Central Bistro on Denman street is a cute corner bar and eatery. Central Bistro is a welcomed neighborhood bar in the sleepier part of the West End. Central caters well to the locals with fun nights and drink specials during the week. In the summer, Central will get more visitors being just a few blocks away from English Bay.

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Central provides a cozy and warm atmosphere to have a meal or small snack with affordable prices and friendly staff.

Section 3 is a trendy lounge in the heart of Yaletown. Offering the latest fusion meals, a large martini menu and stylish decor, Section 3 is a popular destination for a night out. Birthday parties, especially, are popular at Section 3 since it’s one of the only places in Yaletown that can accommodate a large group in more of an upscale setting to a big sports bar.

On weekends, Section 3 is buzzing but during the week, it tends to die down a little – making it a nice place take a date.

Local Public Eatery is one of the newest Kitsilano hang-outs just steps away from Kits beach. As part of Joey’s restaurant group, Local remains true to the the Joey’s reputation of serving quality food with a friendly staff.

Local Public Eatery has a warm classic dark wood charm with booth seating and a candle lit glow that makes it an easy bar to nestle into for a dark raining Vancouver night. Local features a rotation of nightly drink specials that range from $5 – $6 or you can always go with a never fail $4 glass of “secret” wine making it an affordable place to grab drinks in Kits.

Local’s flat screen tvs mounted all around the bar provides plenty of viewing options for sports. In summer, when Kits beach really shines, Local Public Eatery is the Kitsilano hot spot with open it’s garage doors and provide service on the patio for those wanting to soak up the sun.
