Eight 1/2 prides itself on offering fresh and local found found in nearby waters and markets. You can come in for lunch or dinner during the week and on weekends, it opens at 11am offering brunch. On the drinks menu, Eight 1/2 offers beer, wine, cocktails and martinis. On weekends, Eight 1/2 turns the ambiance to more of a lounge with djs playing to the crowd.

At a capacity of 60 people, Eight 1/2 makes a great intimate venue for private functions and smaller events where you can book the place for the night.

The Diamond

The Diamond in Gastown is a private and intimate bar and lounge up on the 2nd floor at the corner of Powell and Carrall. Opening in July 2009, it’s one of the newest hip hang-outs in Gastown. Open Wednesday through Sunday, the Diamond serves tapas and one-of-a-kind cocktail concoctions. The Diamond’s dining space is nice and open with the high lofty ceilings and big corridors that are unique to Gastown’s heritage buildings. Most tables are set for two to share plates which makes for a great place to catch up with a friend or to bring a date. Though, if you plan ahead or make a reservation, the Diamond has some room for smaller groups to dine together.

Speakeasy on Davie

The Speakeasy on Davie is a long time West End favorite for… everything: cancuks, patio, food, drink, UFC and now brunch. A neighbhourhood hang-out, the Speakeasy also offers movie nights during the week when the crowd settles. Plenty of room inside, multi levels and friendly staff make it a fun place to drink and enjoy company of good friends.

Deliliah’s Martini Bar

Delilah’s is stylish and sophisticated Martini Bar and restaurant in the West End on Comox just steps off of Denman. The inside is an elegantly decorated room with cozy red velvety booths and tapestry backed chairs.

Delilah’s is the perfect place to host a classy event with 4 course fine dining. Other nights, you can catch popular “Diva’s on Delilah’s” which cater to the local West end crowd.

St Augustine’s

St. Augustine’s on Commercial Drive is a friendly neighbourhood sports bar operated by three home grown owners who grew up around the Commerical Drive area. Inside, St. Augustine’s provides a leisurely place to grab a bite to eat and watch the canucks games, ufc or other popular sporting events.

Inside there are several large tables that accommodate large groups and, unlike most bars in Vancouver, St. Augustine’s lets you reserve a table to secure seats for busy sport nights (including UFC nights)!

The menu at St. Augustine’s has all the favourites – including burgers, pizzas, sandwiches and nachos. Open during the day, you can easily pop in for a quick bite to eat and on weekends, they provide lunch.

Two things that I find most enticing about St. Augustine’s is the beer – they have TWENTY beers on tap!

I should also mention St. Augustine’s has parking on the ROOF! This means you don’t have to worry about nabbing a spot on Commercial drive.
