Smiley O’Neals is a popular sports bar and pub for the after work crowd and sports fans. Located beside the CIBC on West Pender, only a small sign above street level, a sandwich board and narrow entrance identifies Smiley O’Neals from the street.
Most locals know of Smiley O’Neals because it’s one of the only staple after work pubs in the downtown business core. In recent years, Smiley’s has been given new ownership under the mega DHM Group. Like other DHM sports bars in the chain, it caters to UFC and Canuck nights by providing an ample supply of tvs in their large ballroom size room. I have to hand it to the Smiley O’Neals staff for keeping the beers flowing on these busy sports nights!
Smiley O’Neals is one of the best looking historic bars in town. It’s dark wood, high ceilings and pillars throughout the room give the inside regal look with a classic pub feel. Smiley O’Neals is a great venue for large groups and private functions.
