Best Patios in Vancouver

Patios in Vancouver are a very popular destination on a bright summer day. Here’s a list of some of the best patios in the city.

The Boathouse
I love the boathouse patio. Such a beautiful view of English Bay!

Location: 1795 Beach Avenue (at Denman in the Westend – Across the street is the beach!)

Joey’s On Broadway
Popular with the after work crew. Rooftop opens up for patio experience.
Website: http://www.joeysmedgrill.com/
Location:1424 West Broadway (at Hemlock – 2 blocks east of Granville)

The Teahouse
Now backed to being called the Teahouse again from Sequoia Grill…..
A Vancouver staple in Stanley Park. Would be a lovely patio for a date ;)
Website: http://www.vancouverdine.com/teahouse/home.html
Location: Ferguson Point, Stanley Park Drive
(I recommend going for a walk along the Seawall – there are steps going up between 2nd and 3rd Beach)

The Kingston
You wouldn’t know it but the Kingston actually has a nice quant patio in the back and a roof portion as well!
Website: http://www.kingstontaphouse.com/
Location: 755 Richards (between W Georgia and Robson)

Chill Winston
Great place in Gastown with a nice big patio.
Website: http://chillwinston.ca/Home.html
Location: 3 Alexander Street (at the very end of Abbott in Gastown)

Bridges
Hands down the best patio for sun and size.
Website: http://www.bridgesrestaurant.com/
Location: 1696 Duranleau Street (on Granville Island – west-most point on GI)

The Mill
This place is kinda hidden along the seawall in Coal Harbour. It’s a bit of a trek but the location is fabulous, lots of tables and sun!
Website: http://www.millbistro.ca/
Location:199 West Cordova Street (at Bute)

Cardero’s
For a more upscale place, I like Cardero’s a lot. Great location in Coal Harbour overlooking all the crazy expensive yachts.
Website: http://www.vancouverdine.com/carderos/home.html
Location: 1583 Coal Harbour Quay at Nicola Street)

Burrard Bridge Marine Pub and Grill
I’m excited about this new venue on the seawall that replaced Fiddlehead Joe’s. It’s a maritime theme and the bar is very open concept with large patio doors that open on nice days. Should be good times!
Website: http://www.burrardbridge.com/
Location: 1 – 1012 Beach Avenue (*right* on the Seawall under the Burrard Bridge)

Havana
This is my pick on the Drive since it’s great for people watching. Though, very busy and hard to find a spot.
Website: http://www.havanarestaurant.ca/
Location: 1212 Commercial Drive (On the Drive across from the park)

Monk McQueens
Monk’s patio wraps around their fine dining restaurant. It’s a lovely wooden deck right on false creek. Nice to sit back, sip on drinks and watch the boats going by.
Website: http://www.monkmcqueens.com/
Location: 601 Stamps Landing
(South Side of False Creek – the Aquabus has a stop there)

Backstage Lounge
The patio isn’t too big and there isn’t much sun since it’s right under the Granville bridge but it’s a nice chill place on Granville Island and they usually have live music later in the evening.
Website: http://www.thebackstagelounge.com/
Location: 1585 Johnston Street
(on Granville Island – across from Theater Sports and right where the aqua bus drops you off)
